Both access points can also function as workgroup bridges for extending a wireless signal. Linksys touted ease of use and flexibility in deployment with an intuitive Web-based management interface as additional features of these APs. “With the proliferation of mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets in business environments, the need for faster Wi-Fi and more capacity is evident. Changyu’s Ningxia estate to become 100% biodynamic

YPE html PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN” “http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd”> Speaking to db in London this week, Changyu’s chief winemaker, Lenz Moser, said the company hopes to be certified biodynamic in three years. “My big aim for Changyu is to convert the estate to being 100% biodynamic. We’re in the early stages of conversion at the moment and want to be fully certified by a European body in three years. If we achieve this, we’ll be the first certified biodynamic wine estate in China. “I practiced biodynamics in Austria. It brings Mother Nature in sync with the vineyard and keeps the ecosystem in tact. There’s the voodoo and cow shit element, which if you believe in it then it works. “Biodynamics is all about living with the vineyard on a daily basis and taking care of the land in a much more intense way.” As for the motivation behind the move, Moser said he’s doing it for ethical reasons. “People say that being biodynamic makes the wines takes better, but I doubt it. “I’m doing it for ethical reasons the same way you might drive an electric car. If a side effect is that the wine taste...

Charlotte Casiraghi wears grandmother Grace Kelly’s diamond necklace at her wedding

Royal bride Charlotte Casiraghi of Monaco channelled her grandmother Grace Kelly as she celebrated her marriage with glittering evening reception.   Charlotte, 32, donned a stunning diamond necklace once owned by the actress as she joined new husband Dimitri Rassam, 37, for the gala dinner at a private mansion on Saturday night.  The couple, who tied the knot in a civil ceremony in Monaco that afternoon, delighted royal fans by releasing a photo from the event on Facebook yesterday. Newlyweds: Charlotte Casiraghi, 32, donned a stunning diamond necklace once owned by her grandmother Grace Kelly she joined new husband Dimitri Rassam, 37, for a glittering evening reception on Saturday night following their low key civil ceremony that day Charlotte Casiraghi of Monaco tied the knot this weekend, and her two wedding dresses were every bit as stunning as we imagined they might be. For the civil ceremony on Saturday afternoon she chose a mini dress by Saint Laurent, but how jaw-droppingly beautiful is the Chanel gown she wore for day two of the celebrations? The strapless neckline, the V-shaped cut out in the bodice, the satin fabric and split skirt… it’s oh so chic. Add i...

We saw a major turnaround in corn prices on Monday, May 13, when corn futures dropped

We saw a major turnaround in corn prices on Monday, May 13, when corn futures dropped 8¢, turned around, and finished 5¢ higher. The daily trading range was larger than the previous day. That, with a higher close formed a technical signal called a bullish key reversal. Reversals can signal a top or bottom in the market. With continued wet weather in the forecast and corn planting slowed, a chart reversal could be a signal to traders that future corn supply may shrink, and now is the time to buy.   As of Sunday, May 12, 30% of the corn crop was planted, according to the USDA Crop Ratings and Progress report. Planting will move along and likely pick up, yet the rain forecast through May for much of the Midwest could hinder progress. Some states have a prevented plant date of May 25. If saturated soils do not dry out, farmers may take a prevented-plant insurance payout and forgo planting those acres. That presents a bullish factor for corn. There could be as many as 3 to 5 million acres not planted. At 4 million not planted, production could be reduced by nearly 700 million bushels. A bulging carryout projection of 2.5 million could quickly drop down to 1.8 billion. With 70% of the...

A former Northwest farmer now lends a hand by loaning specialized agricultural equipment to local startup farms | Food News | Spokane | The Pacific Northwest Inlander

Colleen Messerschmidt doesn’t know and has no interest in finding out. Although she and husband James raise meat chickens on their modest Rathdrum farmstead, they’ve been fortunate to find fellow farmers willing and able to share equipment, including a mechanized poultry plucker. Resembling a washing machine drum with rubber tipped “fingers” inside that grab the feathers as the carcass tumbles and rotates inside, a poultry plucker can run upwards of $400. It mechanizes an otherwise tedious — not to mention messy — process. The Messerschmidts have considered purchasing their own to process the four dozen or so Cornish Cross and Freedom Ranger chickens raised on their Grateful Plate Farmstead, yet would only need it seasonally through the warmest months. “We’re kind of getting a taste of doing it multiple times a year,” says Colleen, who handles the chickens and produce, while James deals with the pigs, which they sell online, as well as through LINC Foods. Besides the purchase cost, she adds, there’s insurance, maintenance and finding a place to store it. And while borrowing from neighbors has been OK, Colleen worries about timing ...

Scott Sternberg on His New Line, His Exit from Band of Outsiders, and Making Clothes for the Entire World

Three years since he left Band of Outsiders after a decade as one of menswear’s leading lights, Scott Sternberg is back with a new endeavor: Entireworld, a democratically-minded line for, yes, everybody. After some time out of the spotlight, he’s ready to talk about all of it. You don’t expect utopia from 3055 Wilshire Boulevard, from its 12 stories of beige and brown and tan. You don’t expect utopia from the fourth floor either, home to the law offices of Domingo & Domingo, and of Jacob Borenstein, attorney at law. But utopia—or some version of it, at least, articulated through exactingly designed T-shirts, socks, underwear, and more—is exactly what Scott Sternberg is trying to build here, behind one of those black plastic nameplates that reads: Entireworld Enterprises. Entireworld, which launched earlier this week, is a clothing line—Sternberg’s first since Band of Outsiders, the beloved brand he built from scratch before leaving, somewhat mysteriously, in 2015. It began, he tells me, before he’d even left Band, with a conviction that no one—himself included—was paying enough attention to the simpler stuff, the building blocks of a wardrobe and of a life. “It s...

Google Nest Hub vs Amazon Echo Show 5: Which smart display should you buy?

The era of smart speakers is over. The era of smart displays has begun. Differences are subtle, and in a way devices like the Amazon Echo Show 5 and the Google Nest Hub are evolution of the smart speakers but it is clear they are also the kind of devices that will become more and more popular in the coming days. Especially now with Amazon and Google pushing them hard. While Google offers the Nest Hub Max and the smaller Nest Hub, which was recently launched in India as a part of its smart displays portfolio, Amazon has the Echo Show and the Echo Show 5, which I reviewed recently. Of these devices, the two buzzing right now are the Nest Hub and the Echo Show 5 – smart displays with smaller screens that offer the best of both worlds at a significantly lower price. For those who aren’t sure, the Google Nest Hub, which we reviewed recently costs Rs 9,999 and it is available in Chalk and Charcoal colour variants in India. The Amazon Echo Show 5, on the other hand, costs Rs 8,999 and is available in Black and White colour variants in the country. Both the smart displays are petite yet powerful. They are smart and efficient and they offer value for money. With such lucrativ...

Finding the perfect rain boots is easier said than done. You’ll need them to be stylish

Finding the perfect rain boots is easier said than done. You’ll need them to be stylish so you’ll actually want to wear them, but they also need to be functional to keep your feet dry and safe from slipping in wet weather. Not to mention, they should be comfortable and durable so you’ll be able to get lots of use out of them, regardless of whether you wear them regularly or just on occasion. When it comes to picking out the best rain boot for you, make sure you’re looking for options that have deep treads on the bottom so there will be traction on slippery surfaces. Also, pull-on styles with no openings are ideal for keeping out water — zippers make the boots easier to get on, but they’re not usually waterproof. The Good Housekeeping Institute Textiles Lab tests rain boots by evaluating whether they’re truly waterproof and seeing how long the insides take to dry if water should happen to seep in from the top. We also ask real consumers to try them on to make sure they feel comfortable, fit well, and look attractive. The rain boots below are the winners from our test, picks from our fashion team, or newer styles with unique features and rave re...
